loathsome ”sport” 😡

64 wolves have been killed during Montana's wolf hunting season. 64 wolves killed for sport, for trophy, for fun.

There's no scientific or ethical reason to kill wolves. Many ethical hunters frown on wolf killing, too. So why do states like Montana continue to let people slaughter wolves?

Tellabration! is a mammoth storytelling event made up of dozens of storytelling happenings all over the world. In partnership with the Connecticut Storytelling Center, the Institute for American Indian Studies will host a multicultural Tellabration! for families on Saturday, November 18th at 1:00pm at Washington
Montessori School. Today we’re showcasing our Education Director Darlene Kascak of the Schaghticoke Tribal Nation.

Along with her role as an educator, Darlene is also a member of the Schaghticoke Women’s Traditional Council. This past year, she has been working with the Connecticut State Department of Education on implementing Connecticut’s Indigenous history in the social studies’ curriculum. As a Traditional Native
American Storyteller, she preserves culture’s oral traditions to pass down knowledge and values through the generations. Her mission is to connect the stories passed down from generation to generation to recent archaeological discoveries, giving voice to these objects. Darlene believes strongly that oral
traditions can be used as a tool to validate or challenge academic knowledge and give shared authority to historically marginalized communities. Come listen to the stories used to explain the great mysteries of life and teach life lessons about love, leadership, honor, and our connection to the earth.

For more information about this event, and to register, please visit the following link: https://iaismuseum.charityproud.org/EventRegistration/Index/13983. This program is supported by a grant from Connecticut Humanities.

Our Story

This page is in no way offiliated with “The Grange” as an official entity. It is run privately - by volunteers - at their own discretion because the actual Beacon Grange has chosen not to enter the 21st century & we’re a bit sad about that. We feel that supplying information about how to find & join the grange, however, to be worthwhile.
