Part of the Friends support for the library comes from community donations. In 2025, with funding from FONOBO, the Northborough Free Library was able to run 750+ programs for over 18,000 attendees at an effective cost of 80 cents per attendee...That means for less than the cost of a pack of gum, someone was able to attend the Summer Art Show and Ice Cream Social, spend time with their child at the Children's summer reading wrap up event with Flying High Dogs, experience a D&D campaign, make a Cat-Tastic Creation with feline health advice from a Vet, or take part in an immigration policy discussion with an attorney.

Please donate today & help us reach our $15,000 goal – A little goes a long way...

The Friends of the Northborough Library, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has granted the 2026 Friends of the Northborough Library Service Award to Tanmay Darji. This award is given to a graduating high school senior in recognition of their outstanding volunteer work for the Northborough Free Library and/or the Friends of the Northborough Library. Tanmay is a 2026 graduate of Algonquin Regional High School who volunteered extensively, developing and running the Chess Club in the Children's Room and scanning book donations for online resale to raise funds for the Friends group. Tanmay was presented with the award during the Friends of the Northborough Library meeting on May 27. 🥰

Any library volunteer who is a graduating senior is eligible for the award. Volunteer opportunities include: Friends of the Library Book Sales, Children’s Room volunteers and involvement in TAG (Teen Advisory Group). To volunteer for a Book Sale, please contact [email protected]. To volunteer in the Children’s Room, please look for the volunteer form on the library website. To become involved in TAG stop in the Teen Room.

We had a donation of Graphic novels, and some will be in the special price section, like these two. From Hell is a highly acclaimed, very graphic graphic novel about Jack the Ripper. Not for kids. There are a bunch of graphic novels for kids as well, but not pictured here.
