The officers and members of the Woodstock Fire Department extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Firefighter Eric Phillips and the members of the Raymond Fire Department as they mourn the loss of their family member.

Raymond Fire Department Announces the Line of Duty Death of Firefighter Eric Phillips
Raymond, New Hampshire — It is with profound sadness that Raymond Fire Chief Jason Grant and the members of the Raymond Fire Department announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Firefighter Eric Phillips, 44, following a medical emergency suffered in the line of duty.
Firefighter Phillips was a valued member of the Raymond Fire Department and had proudly served the Raymond community for the past five years.
During his service, Eric demonstrated the dedication, courage, and compassion that are the hallmarks of the fire service. He was a trusted colleague and friend to the members of the department and a dedicated public servant to the residents of Raymond.
Chief Jason Grant stated, “The Raymond Fire Department is heartbroken by the sudden and unexpected loss of Eric. Eric dedicated five years of his life to serving the people of Raymond, and his commitment to his fellow firefighters and our community will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with Eric’s family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him.”
Firefighter Phillips suffered the medical emergency while on a call for service on the evening of September 4, 2026. He was transported to the Exeter Hospital, and despite the efforts of his fellow first responders he died at the hospital.
The Raymond Fire Department extends its deepest condolences to Eric’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. The department is also providing support to its members as they come together to grieve the loss of their brother firefighter.
Additional information regarding arrangements and services will be released when appropriate and in consultation with Firefighter Phillips’ family.
