While upgrades have occurred, there has not been a significant renovation to the fire station since it was constructed in the early 1960s. This process has taken several years, but will be complete by the end of summer.

The proximity of the former movie theater to the north wall contributed to washout of the substrate below the bay floor. With the dilapidated and asbestos-laden former theater removed, we are able to proceed.

The station will be wrapped in metal and the bay floor will be removed and replaced with new concrete. A utility building will be added to the north end of the property along with a larger well.

Local companies are completing the modernization; which does not entail additional expenses or debt to the taxpayer. Cash reserves, in line with our capital improvement plan, will be expended.

A couple of things...

1. The fire territory executive committee and township board meetings are cancelled this week.
2. Township assistance is available 24 hours by calling 574-526-1043.
3. Office hours are Monday 10:30-2:30 and by appointment; also calling 574-526-1043. After hour and evening meetings are available for township services.

For a Webster kid, baseball is a rite of passage. One of the most important organizations we support is the Wawasee Community Summer League; whose representatives invest in the futures of our youth.

Final preparations are underway for Memorial Day ceremonies. Fresh stars and stripes now fly above all four cemeteries. We are proud to support American Legion Post 253 - North Webster,IN Authorized and their efforts to remember the fallen.

EMS Week 2026

It takes a special soul to respond to the emergency of a neighbor or stranger. For 50 years, our drivers, first responders, EMTs and paramedics have done just that. From volunteers to our full-time staff, this community is blessed with the best. They rise to the occasion during the darkest hours; to a clock that does not stop.

To the fine men and women who answer the tones and their families who sacrifice behind the scenes, we are indebted. For those of you who took me under your wings, words cannot describe my gratitude.
