Scene Opens - Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr are engaged in a heated conversation...we join them now.
Hamilton: Burr! I must confess, I am sincerely thrilled beyond measure! We have secured a partnership with The Todi Foundation for our Page to Broadway Gala—a Premier Sponsor of ten thousand dollars, no less!
Burr: Ten thousand? That's... quite the sum, Hamilton. Though I suppose you've never been one for moderation.
Hamilton: They understand what you clearly do not, Burr—the value of investing in one's community! And mark my words, on the twenty-fourth of September, I intend to be in the room where it happens. Will you be there, Burr? Or will you wait to see which way the wind blows?
Burr: (dryly) I'm considering my options, Hamilton. Some of us prefer to think before we act.
Hamilton: Then think quickly! We have but a few tickets remaining for this momentous occasion at The Joseph Ambler Inn. The North Wales Area Library depends upon us—upon you—and our sponsors who have already committed without hesitation! (We couldn't appreciate you all more!)
Burr: And what time does this... spectacle begin?
Hamilton: The VIP hour commences at half past five, followed by the main event at half past six! There will be music, games, a silent auction, signature raffle baskets—
Burr: You're really not going to stop talking, are you?
Hamilton: Why would I stop when there is so much to accomplish? Reserve your seat today, Burr! Or stand aside and watch others shape the future of our North Wales Area Library!
