✨🏡 Helping North Vernon Homeowners, One Repair at a Time! 🏡✨

The City of North Vernon invested $392,000 through its Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation (OOR) Program to help 20 homeowners complete critical home repairs. As part of the program, special consideration was given to priority populations, including 7 individuals with disabilities, 6 seniors, 5 single-parent heads of household, and 1 veteran. All participants completed a detailed eligibility review to verify they met the program's income requirements.

By investing in repairs to owner-occupied homes, the program helped preserve North Vernon's existing housing stock. The average project investment was approximately $16,500 per homeowner, helping residents complete essential repairs that may have otherwise been financially difficult to address.

Completed projects included:
🔨 15 roofs were repaired or replaced
❄️ 9 HVAC systems were replaced
🚰 8 water heaters were installed
♿ 1 ADA accessibility modification helped a resident remain safely in their home

🚧 Public Service Announcement from the North Vernon Police Department 🚧

The State Street Bridge will be closed for construction next weekend, June 12–14.

The red blocks shown in the photo below indicate locations where "NO SEMI" signs will be posted. Due to traffic hazards and limited maneuvering space, semi tractor-trailers will NOT be permitted in the area during the bridge closure.

Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as this important work is completed safely.
