The DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is this Saturday, April 25th, 2026, from 10 AM to 2 PM. It’s a free, anonymous way to safely get rid of unused or expired medications.

In The City of North Vernon, you can drop them off at the North Vernon Fire Department (2000 N Madison Avenue).

They’ll accept tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid medications, as well as va**ng devices (with batteries removed). Liquids, needles, and sharps are not accepted. Please remove any personal information from your medication labels and drop them off, no questions asked.

This event happens twice a year to help prevent misuse and keep our community safe. Please share to help spread the word.

The Jennings County Community Foundation will be hosting the Scholarship Awards Night on Wednesday, May 13th @ 6pm.

Mark your calendars now to see 135 scholarships worth more than $85k awarded to local high school and college students.

Everyone is welcome to attend this event and show your support to these well deserving students who make Jennings County proud.
