It was a balmy June afternoon. The cottages are beginning to get a bit busier and things are picking up in town.

For a brief time there were only 9 cottages. Their construction was started in 1930 and were open for the 1931 season. This old photo shows the original cottages before the remaining ones were finished in 1933. These first cottages are now known as Rose, Lilac, Tulip, Peony, Violet, Crocus, Dahlia, Zinnia and Cosmos.

A protective offshore sandbar was lost in a storm which made the area more vulnerable. Fortunately, the Days family foresaw possible future damage and built a series of strong seawalls, our current one was built in 1978.
Notice the screened porches. These were glassed in during the 1950s.
