Dear Davis School District parents, students and employees,
We trust this message finds you well. Today, we are reaching out to you on a matter that is close to our hearts and requires our collective empathy and compassion.
Recently, Superintendent Dr. Dan Linford received a letter from a sixth-grade student at Foxboro Elementary School asking him to consider asking everyone in the district wear yellow on Thursday, Feb. 15 in observance of Childhood Cancer Awareness Day. Please preview the video below to hear her message.

Thanks to Isabella's letter, we are calling on everyone in our district community to wear yellow on Thursday, Feb. 15 in observance of Childhood Cancer Awareness Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about pediatric cancer and honoring the brave children and families in our school district who have faced, or are currently facing, this formidable adversary.
We invite each of you to join us in commemorating Childhood Cancer Awareness Day in the following ways:
Send words of love: We invite you to fill out this form and write a note of love, support or encouragement for a specific individual, family or just in general to all who have faced, or are currently facing, childhood cancer. Our hope is to share your shout-outs throughout February on our social media to let these young warriors and their families know we support them.
Share Your Stories: If you or someone you know has been touched by childhood cancer, we invite you to share stories and photos of strength and resilience on your social media. Tag us in your posts on Instagram and on Facebook, and we will share your stories on our platforms. You can also reply to this email with your stories and photos, and we can share them out for you, if you prefer.
Wear Yellow: Yellow is the color associated with childhood cancer awareness. On Thursday, Feb. 15, we encourage you to wear yellow clothing or accessories to show your support.
We understand that discussions surrounding cancer can be difficult and, at times, evoke feelings of sadness. Our aim is to foster a sense of community, love and encouragement during what can be an incredibly challenging journey for these young warriors and their families.
Thank you for being a part of our compassionate community. Together, we can make a difference and bring comfort to those who need it most.
Thank you,
Davis School District
