Liberty Fest Volunteers Needed

The City's annual Liberty Fest celebration brings thousands of people to our community each year to celebrate our country's independence! This multi-event festival continues to grow every year, and we couldn't put it all together without great staff and community volunteers!

NSL Kite Festival this Saturday, May 4th at 10am at Tunnel Springs Park! We've got free kites to decorate and fly, music, face painting, and food trucks (Pig & A Jelly Jar Salt Lake City and Udder Rivals)! A A Wind Of Change Kites will be doing a kite demonstration with their giant kites, and don't miss the photo ops! See you Saturday!

This past weekend, our council had the wonderful opportunity to go to a leadership conference held by UAYC at Utah State University. This is the culmination of a lot of hard work and good attendance from all the youth who were able to go. It was such a good opportunity for our council!!

Here, we were able to grow as a youth city council and develop our connection and team building skills. We attended seminars and activities as a city, and with other cities.

We were also able to attend classes and speakers about subjects like networking, roles of the government, leadership, mental health, and civil debates.

Friday night, we had the honor of attending a banquet with the Mayor Brian Horrocks, his wife, Linda, and Council Member Alisa Van Langeveld from North Salt Lake City Council. This gave the youth a chance to interact with our city government and fill them on what we are doing and have a discussion about out community. We also got to hear about other activities that are happening in other cities. Makenzie Brinton, our YCC City Manager got the chance to share about some of our service opportunities.

We are extremely grateful for all the people who made this possible and all the wonderful youth that we have in our city! It was a wonderful opportunity that we look forward to for many years to come.

NEW THIS YEAR! We're adding a charitable facet to ! Help us and the Davis Education Foundation in support of the new WXHS Teen Center.
