Big trucks, little explorers, and plenty of family fun!

Touch A Truck is coming to North Riverside on Saturday, September 12th, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at North Riverside Park Mall.

Kids can get an up close look at a variety of vehicles from local businesses and service providers, climb aboard, and see some of their favorites in person.

There will also be a live DJ, games for all ages, and plenty of bubbles for the little ones.

Best of all, it’s FREE! Bring the family and come explore with us.

Hydrant flushing will begin this month as crews continue routine maintenance of the Village’s water system.

Signs will be posted throughout the affected areas before flushing begins to give residents advance notice.

During hydrant flushing, residents may notice temporary water discoloration. If this occurs, allow cold water to run until it clears and avoid doing laundry until the water is clear.

Drivers traveling on Cermak Road should be aware of an upcoming traffic change.

On Friday, September 4th, the lane configuration over the Des Plaines River will be changing as work continues in the area. Drivers should watch for updated traffic patterns, follow posted signage, and use extra caution while traveling through the construction zone.

Please allow additional time when traveling through the area.

As a new school year begins, a few extra seconds of caution can make a big difference. Whether you're driving, walking, or biking, help keep our students safe by remembering to:

• Slow down in school zones and obey posted speed limits.
• Stop for school buses when required by law.
• Stay alert and avoid distractions behind the wheel.
• Watch carefully for children at crosswalks and intersections.
• Give yourself a little extra travel time during the morning and afternoon school commute.

You never know what you’ll find at the Fall Flea Market.

Join us Sunday, September 13th from 9 AM to 2 PM for a community favorite filled with vendors and plenty to browse.

Vendor spaces are $30 each, and you can choose your spot online. Vendors must provide their own tables, chairs, and tents.

The Flea Market will be held rain or shine on the Village Commons front lawn and in the Police Station parking lot.

Property owners can get free, one-on-one help with the property tax appeal process today at the Village Commons.

The Cook County Board of Review will host a Property Tax Appeal Workshop where homeowners can speak directly with Board of Review analysts, ask questions about their assessment, and receive help filing an appeal.
