💙💛 What a day for Whelan! 💛💙

Today we officially celebrated the opening of our beautiful new Dr. Joseph A. Whelan Elementary School with a ribbon-cutting ceremony! ✂️🏫🐾

It was so exciting to see our 5th grade students, families, teachers, staff, PTO and community all together celebrating this huge milestone for Whelan.

A big thank you to Mayor Lombardi, Chief of staff Mr. Fossa, Superintendent Goho, Principal Lombardi, Assistant Superintendent Seitsinger, Governor McKee, RIDE Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green, Special Education Director VanAvery, the North Providence Town Council, School Committee, School Committee candidates Lance Mantia and Lorraine Moschella, and everyone else who came out to celebrate with us today!

A very special thank you to Shawmut Design and Construction, and all of the people behind the scenes who worked so hard to turn the plans for our new school into a reality. 💙💛

The Whelan PTO was incredibly proud to be part of today’s celebration and even more excited for everything that lies ahead. This building is brand new, but what will truly make it “Whelan” are the students, staff, families and memories that fill it.💛💙

Here’s to new classrooms, new traditions, LOTS of new memories, and an amazing future for our Whelan Cougars! 🐾 💙💛
