I'd like to share with you a Community Members Legacy, I realize many knew him from seeing him at local events, and supporting all that that crossed his path. More info on his legacy can be found here: https://gofund.me/3e3cfa28

Unfortunately, Luke's battle with stomach cancer was swift and aggressive. Despite his strength and resilience, the disease proved to be too formidable. He passed away peacefully on October 9, 2024, leaving behind a loving family and a community that deeply mourns his loss.

He was a dedicated board member during it's initiation and a long-term volunteer for Red Lined, where he tirelessly served his community for years.

He also headed the Providence Wal-Mart Community Outreach program and raised thousands of dollars for Children's Miricle Network during his near 30 year employment starting with the company when they were a grassroots business. He advocated for Providences Wanskuck Library for thier after-school care program more than once as Santa's Helper.

Please welcome the newest addition to my little free library family. Encompass Free Little Library, will be stationed inside a very special park. A park that aims myself helped commission from a boring, non-inclusive steel framed structure to a half million dollar state of the art playground. In honored that my Mayor, Mr.Charles Lombardi has mirrored our name and named the park Encompass Park. It is a great honor and privilege to be part of this build. The team which included 3 other moms with children who will directly benefit from the accessibility and a second mom with like devotion and caring for inclusiveness worked for a year and a half to commission for a better park. My builder is 100% volunteer based, through his local business, My Family Painting & Remodeling in out hometown of North Providence, Rhode Island.

This is the only LFL in the country that is 100% wheelchair accessible. When we reached out to LFL management for direction the most local of fully accessible libraries was based in Britian. We are now the sole library to accept such a feat and are incredibly excited to get books, literature and more out to our community.

Our community is a "red" area with limited access to libraries, schools and with very few book boxes in its area. We're a title one schooling district, who lost there 100 year old school in 2019 when the building was unable to sustain anymore upkeep and a new building was made 2 miles away.

If you can't tell, we're bery proud of our community and the impact we'll have one it.

I am happy to announce that I am opening a second Little Free Library. It will be located in Marieville, North Providence. It's intention is to be as accessible as possible. We have done this by creating the library at wheelchair height, enough for a wheelchair to pull underneath. It will also be wider than it is shorter, shorter shelving and differing handles for anyone with grip or reach deficits. I hope you'll follow along on this journey with us!
