Today my friend Steven DiLorenzo and I joined members of the North Providence Senior Center to celebrate National Donut Day! Donuts provided by Allie's Donuts. Students from Marieville Elementary School performed their “Vote for Question 8” rendition. I hoped everyone had the time to enjoy a donut today!

I urge the residents of the Town of North Providence to vote YES on Question 8 to improve our school facilities on Tuesday Nov, 8.

Please support the building of two new elementary schools and various safety upgrades to other school buildings in our Town.

This bond is a $75 million dollar bond, of which the Town of North Providence will receive $42 million dollars from the Rhode Island Department of Education.

Students from Marieville School under the direction of teacher Stacey Bachini have created a special song to help residents remember to vote YES on Question 8.

Today second-grade students from McGuire Elementary School came to tour Town Hall and learned about the functions of government. Students were invited to ask me questions about my role as Mayor in my office, learned about taxes in the Tax Collectors Office and visited the Town Council Chamber. Our students are the next generation of residents of the Town of North Providence. It is important that we all do our part to ensure their education.

I would like to ask the residents of the Town of North Providence to read the article in this week's edition of the Valley Breeze announcing that the a Town was awarded a $400,000 grant to construct an amphitheater at Camp Meehan. The construction of the amphitheater will provide the Town with the ability to expand public access to the park and provide our residents with the opportunity to attend cultural events at this facility. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management for this additional award to support our project

I would like to thank all of our supporters and campaign workers for the boundless energy and work ethic they displayed allowing us to be victorious in the Democratic Primary.

It is now on to the general election.I will continue to campaign on my record and look forward to interacting with our Town residents over the next nine weeks.

Again, from the bottom of my heart thank you for your tremendous support. I can assure you that if elected to another four-year term on November 8, 2016, the Town will continue to progress in a manner that increases the quality of life for all of our residents.
