Gift of Hope Cancer Foundation

Gift of Hope is a local nonprofit made up of western Nebraska residents helping cancer patients with basic living expenses.

We’re funded entirely by donations, helping over 70 families a year. Every dollar given goes directly to those in need. The Gift of Hope Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization that works toward the accomplishment of the following:

Recruit volunteers to help cancer patients and their families who need assistance to accomplish tasks made difficult or impossible by the disease. Assistance is available for persons in Nebraska, west of Lexington, who have been treated or diagnosed at the Callahan Cancer Center. Collect and distribute monetary gifts and other donations. these donations would be used to assist patients in meeting their financial commitments. Collect and distribute medical hardware such as wheelchairs, walkers, crutches etc. receive and determine the acceptability of requests for assistance.

We recently received this beautiful thank-you note from a Gift of Hope recipient.

This is why Gift of Hope exists. The support given through this organization reaches beyond a financial need. It reminds families that they are surrounded by a community that cares, is praying for them and wants to help carry them through a difficult season.

Your support is making a difference.

Because of the generosity and compassion of our area, Gift of Hope was able to raise nearly $40,000 last year to help local cancer patients during some of their most difficult days.

Those funds provided assistance to an average of 6 cancer patients every month.

Behind every dollar raised is a story. Behind every gift is a neighbor, friend, or loved one who believes in showing up when it matters most.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, volunteered, attended our events, and supported the mission of Gift of Hope. Together, we are bringing hope, comfort, and support to those in our region facing cancer.

Gift of Hope has always been about neighbors helping neighbors.
