🌎💙 INTERNATIONAL CHARITY DAY — SEPTEMBER 5 💙🌎

Did you know September 5 is International Day of Charity? I didn't.

The United Nations established this day in 2012 to recognize the importance of charity and to encourage individuals, organizations and communities to make a difference through acts of kindness, generosity and service.

The date was chosen to honor Mother Teresa, who died on September 5, 1997, and dedicated her life to helping people in need.

But charity isn't only about writing a check. ❤️

It's about showing up. Giving time. Sharing talents. Opening doors. Helping a neighbor. Investing in the next generation. Time, talent and treasure.

Here at the North Platte Public Schools Foundation, we see the power of generosity every day. Because of caring individuals, businesses, alumni and community partners, our students have opportunities that might not otherwise be possible.

Every act of generosity matters. Every gift makes a difference. Every student benefits when our community comes together.

Today, we celebrate everyone who gives back and makes North Platte a stronger community.
