Proud to join Rep. Tristan Rader for Ohio in advocating for the freedom to legally use your own solar. In an era of high energy costs and too frequent outages, everyone should be able to reduce their bills and keep the lights on with their own safe solar and backup battery systems.

Right in my office at the Ohio Statehouse, we got a firsthand demonstration of plug-in balcony solar and watched the panel generate electricity right there in the window. It was a great reminder of just how lightweight, affordable, and accessible this technology can be for everyday Ohioans.

We didn’t plug it in because current Ohio law still prevents people from using these systems here, even with proper safety safeguards in place. That’s exactly why House Bill 755 is so important. This legislation would help open the door for renters, condo owners, and homeowners alike to safely generate some of their own power and lower their energy bills.

Pictured with me are Rep. Chris Glassburner and Mryia Williams from Solar United Neighbors, helping demonstrate how simple and practical balcony solar can be.

State Representative Bride Rose Sweeney continues to lead the fight for better care and treatment for epilepsy patients. North Olmsted lost our own, Brenna Brossard, to SUDEP unnecessarily. I thank her and Brenna’s parents, Lou and Joni Brossard for continuing this fight.

Bringing home state money to fund a dedicated police officer to the Great Northern Mall area is good for North Olmsted residents and those visiting my home town.

Residents and guests alike visiting Great Northern Mall need a safe and comfortable environment to shop, work, and play. I'm proud to support state dollars to bring a dedicated police officer to the mall area in North Olmsted. It has been my commitment to bring back dollars to our communities, reducing crime, and supporting community-centered approaches to policing.

The wonderful North Olmsted City Schools SITES Empty Bowls fundraiser for the North Olmsted Oxcart Pantry - DYFS was another success demonstrating the partnership through service between our schools and city. Immediately following, Mayor Nicole Dailey Jones delivered a joint North Olmsted State of the City and Schools with Superintendent Chris Caleris. The joint alignment between these two with support from our regional officials like Patrick Kelly Cuyahoga County Council District 1 is really delivering results for our community.

Ohio's state infrastructure bill passed the Ohio House yesterday. I am proud to say I brought back $300k+ back to our district communities. Unfortunately, the bill also got hijacked by an extreme partisan amendment that cuts SNAP food benefits in Cuyahoga, Lorain, Lake, and surrounding counties that aren't Republican *enough*. This cynical partisan game hurts real people and has to stop. I beg the State Senate to do better.

Ohio is set to lose almost $40 million in federal SNAP funding.

Earlier this week I got censored on the Ohio House floor for having the temerity to suggest Ohio didn’t need to waste $22 million on tax cuts for millionaires and should put the money to bipartisan bills to reduce taxes on baby monitors, property taxes of widows of fallen service members, and enhanced security for food stamp cards to prevent vulnerability to scammers. Thank you Ohio House Dems and Leader Dani Isaacsohn for Ohio State Representative for backing my message up to the media.
