Sharing some more good coverage of our recent groundbreaking at the site of the old Forest elementary school.

There’s not often an opportunity to build new housing in North Olmsted. A landlocked city in Cuyahoga County, it’s fortunate when a swath of land not only appears but is also developable.

So when the city issued a request for developers to build what it says is its first new single-family housing in decades, Cincinnati-based homebuilder Drees Homes jumped at the chance to bid.

Taking its place is Forest Commons, a community of 21 single-family homes ranging from 1,500 to 2,700 square feet and 30 paired villas ranging from 1,300 to 2,400 square feet.

Bunge said that the paired villas will focus on serving retiree buyers or those looking to age in place, while the single-family homes will be marketed toward young professionals and buyers looking to start a family.

I had a wonderful day of meetings with Congressman Max Miller, Senator Jon Husted and Senator Bernie Moreno's staff talking about infrastructure funding for The City of North Olmsted. My administration is committed to ensuring that we get our share of federal dollars. As an added bonus we ran into Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne as well.
