This is one of those stories that means a lot to us at Oasis Senior Advisors Salt Lake City and Oasis Senior Advisors Ogden.

We work with families every day to find the right senior living solution, but sometimes we find the right place and there’s still one obstacle standing in the way: money.

That’s exactly what happened with Edward.

A lot of people came together to find a solution, and when there was still a small financial gap, the Golden Gap Foundation was able to step in.

Edward is now safely in assisted living. ❤️

This is why we helped create the Golden Gap Foundation—to give us another option when finding the right care isn’t enough.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this one possible. And now the Golden Gap Foundation could use our community’s help fulfilling the commitment they made to Edward. 💛

👇 Read Edward’s story in the shared post and, if you’re able, please consider supporting the Golden Gap Foundation.

This week, we got to see exactly why the Golden Gap Foundation exists. 💛

Edward needed assisted living, but like so many seniors we encounter, there was a gap between what he could afford and what the care he needed would cost.

In Edward’s case, that gap was $300 a month.

It doesn’t sound like much, but it was enough to stand between Edward and a safe place to live.

So when an assisted living community was found that could work with him, the Golden Gap Foundation made the commitment to cover that difference for the next 12 months.

We didn’t have the full $3,600 raised.

We said yes anyway.

And this week, Edward moved into assisted living. ❤️

Now we need your help fulfilling the commitment we made to Edward—and making sure we’re ready to say yes when the next senior needs us.

This year, our Walk to End Alzheimer’s has a name and a story behind it: Freddie Jane Meyers. 💜

Freddie lived 96 years full of family, adventure, dancing, and a lifetime of caring for others. She raised three children, worked as a caregiver, and was always the first to share, lend a hand, or get up and dance.

Her signature goodbye said everything about who she was:

“Love you more!”

In her later years, Freddie lived with dementia and passed peacefully on January 12, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.

So this year, every step means a little more.

We’re walking for Freddie. Mama, Grand Freddie, GG, Mother and friend to many. We’re walking for every family facing Alzheimer’s and dementia. And we’re walking in hope that someday, no family will have to lose someone they love to this disease.

Alzheimer’s isn’t stopping — and neither are we.

Walk with us. Donate if you can. Share Freddie’s story. 💜

Love you more, Freddie.

I had a great time at the Mediterranean Cuisine Networking Lunch at Copper Creek Senior Living this week. Lisa was still home sick, so I was flying solo again, but it was a great opportunity to connect with some wonderful senior professionals—and enjoy an amazing Mediterranean spread!

And a special thank you to Copper Creek for going the extra mile and treating everyone to complimentary professional headshots by the talented Kelly Denney & Lisa Chriss Photography. 📸 Such a fun and thoughtful addition to an already great afternoon!

Thank you Carrie Herrin and Jennie Gauf for always creating such fun opportunities to bring our senior care community together. These relationships really do make a difference in how we’re able to serve families. 💙

I had a great time stopping by the Valencia at Cottonwood Heights' Open House! It was fun seeing all the incredible upgrades they’ve made, but even better was getting to catch up with so many friends and familiar faces in the senior living community.

Lisa Booth was home sick and definitely missed being there with me, so a special thank you to Sean for stepping in and making sure we actually got some pictures! 📸😊

We’re always grateful for opportunities like this to connect, strengthen relationships, and support the amazing communities we get to work alongside.

Thank you to everyone at Valencia for having us and putting on such a great event! 💙

It’s been a busy month for us at Oasis, and looking back at the calendar, I’m reminded of just how different every day in this business can be.

Lisa and I have spent a lot of time on the road — touring communities with families, helping with move-ins, meeting with healthcare and senior living partners, attending events, and doing plenty of following up in between.

But some of the most important things we do never make it onto the calendar.

This month, we had a family suddenly find out their loved one was being discharged from skilled nursing in just 24 hours. They needed to figure out where they were going to live — and fast.

Those are the calls that remind me why we do this. We can jump in, make some calls, figure out what’s actually available, and help a family turn a pretty overwhelming situation into a plan.

Sometimes we have weeks or months to plan. Sometimes we have a day.

Through all of it, I’m grateful I get to do this work alongside Lisa. We spend a lot of time together in the car, on tours, and talking through how we can best help each family. I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone else. 💚

It’s been a full month, but a good one. Thank you to the families who trust us and to our senior living and healthcare partners who pick up the phone when we call. We really couldn’t do this without you.

There's nothing better than spending time out in the community!

Whether it's attending a Chamber event, participating in a senior expo, volunteering, supporting a memory care walk, or visiting local senior living communities, I love connecting with the people and organizations that make our community stronger.

If you see me at an upcoming event, please stop by and say hello. 👋

I'd love to meet you and learn how I can be a resource for your family or organization.

Community Spotlight: BeeHive Homes of South Jordan
- A Small Home with a Big Heart

One of the greatest privileges Lisa and I have at Oasis Senior Advisors is getting to know and work alongside senior living communities that truly care about the people they serve.

This month, we’re excited to recognize BeeHive Homes of South Jordan as our Community Spotlight. ❤️

There’s something about this community that just feels like home. It’s smaller, family-owned, comfortable, and personal—but what really stood out to us was the people.

The staff genuinely seem happy to be there. There’s laughter, familiarity, and a real connection between the team and the residents. You get the feeling they don’t just know the residents’ care needs—they know them. Their personalities, their preferences, what makes them smile, and probably even what kind of mood they’re in that day.

We also loved hearing the administrator joke that even though he’s supposed to be the “big boss,” the residents are really the ones in charge. They tell him what they need, and his job is to listen and make it happen.

That says a lot about a community.

BeeHive has a great family story behind it, too. The home was thoughtfully built by the McCullough family and is now family-owned and operated by the Ketcher family. But what really makes the building a home is the amazing staff who show up every day and care for these residents like family.

When you’re helping someone choose where their mom, dad, spouse, or loved one is going to live, that matters. A lot.

We love finding communities with good people doing things the right way, and we think those communities deserve to be recognized.

BeeHive Homes of South Jordan is one of those places. ❤️

If someone you love is beginning the search for senior living, Lisa and I would be honored to help your family find the place that feels right.
