Neal graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1973, spent two years in Brisbane Australia and then attended Weber State University where he served as Academic Vice President in student government. He graduated in 1979 with a degree in accounting. After graduation he worked for Deloitte, a national accounting and consulting firm, where he earned his CPA. He also was an Adjunct Professor at Weber State University where he donated his compensation to the University to establish a scholarship for students with disabilities.
He has been married to Jeana Hancock for forty years and is the proud father of three sons, Ryan, Justin and Colton.
Neal has been involved in community service for many years. At the request of Mayor Richard Harris, he chaired the North Ogden City Compensation Study Committee. He also led a citizen’s group to oppose the building of the North Ogden Public Works Building in a residential area adjacent to the equestrian park. At the request of Governor Gary Herbert, he served on the Governor’s Committee for Efficient and Effective Government and also as a Commissioner for the Division of Alcohol Beverage Control. He is a mentor for MBA students at Westminster College and has served Weber State University in several capacities. He has served in various church assignments including as Bishop of an LDS Young Single Adults Ward at Weber State University.
His continuing desire to serve and be involved in his community and profession is evidenced by the various boards he has served on or is currently serving on. He has been a member of the following boards:
