Labor Day Weekend is here! 🇺🇸
We’re flying PURPLE FLAGS along the beach due to jellyfish in the water. 🪼 If you get stung, rinse the area, apply heat or an ice pack for pain relief, and remember the discomfort will typically improve with time.

As always, swim near a lifeguard, stay aware of ocean conditions, stay hydrated, and keep a close eye on children in and around the water.

Enjoy the long weekend, stay safe, and look for the purple flags before you hit the water! 🛟

Andrea joined us from Spain for her first season with NMB Ocean Rescue and has quickly proven herself to be someone we can count on. She comes to the beach prepared, stays alert, and is always ready to respond when something happens in her water. Her focus, responsibility, and strong work ethic have stood out all season. This week’s Lifeguard of the Week is Ean Bane! 🛟🌊
Ean truly does it all. From working some of our busiest towers, to competing on our competition team, to being a Junior Guard Instructor, he’s an incredibly well rounded and dependable guard. On top of it all, he’s one of the kindest and funniest people to have around.

As Ean heads off to Oklahoma University for his first year of college, we’re proud to recognize everything he’s brought to NMBOR.

9 MILE SWIM‼️🌊🛟
These guards took on the 9 Mile Swim, starting at Tower 50 and making their way down the entire stretch of North Myrtle Beach to Tower 1. Over four hours in the ocean and nine miles of coastline later, they got it done. Congratulations to this crew on an incredible accomplishment! And as if nine miles wasn’t enough, plenty of jellyfish stings added to the challenge along the way🪼
