The City of North Myrtle Beach is accepting applications from individuals interested in serving on the Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals and the Municipal Election Commission. The deadline to apply is Monday, September 28.
Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals 🚧
The Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals was established to hear appeals of decisions and interpretations made by the City’s Building Official and to consider requests for variances to the adopted technical building codes. Creation of the Board is authorized under Section 113 of the South Carolina Building Code and under the City’s Code of Ordinances.
The Board consists of five members appointed by the Mayor and City Council, each serving four-year terms. Applicants should have knowledge and experience with the adopted technical building codes and may include individuals working as design professionals, contractors, or representatives of the building industry.
Municipal Election Commission 🗳
Pursuant to Section 9-5 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of North Myrtle beach, all elections of the City are conducted by a Municipal Election Commission composed of three electors. The electors must be residents of the City and are appointed by the City Council. The terms of the members are six years, one member being appointed every two years.
Applicants should have a knowledge of election procedures and prior experience serving as a municipal or county poll manager and/or clerk.
