The City of North Miami’s Asphalt Driveway Approach Program is accepting applications to help eligible homeowners improve their driveway approaches.

📅 Application Deadline: Monday, October 12, 2026

📍 Home must be within the CRA limits
🏠 Homeowner must apply
✅ No open building or code violations
🏡 Property must be for residential use only
🎟️ Qualifying residents will be selected through a lottery process.

WATER SYSTEM NOTICE: Annual Chlorination Treatment

The City of North Miami will conduct its annual water chlorination treatment from September 28 through October 11, 2026.

During this period, the City will temporarily convert from chloramines to free chlorine, a stronger disinfectant that provides additional protection against bacteria and viruses in the water distribution system.

Residents may notice a temporary change in the taste or odor of their water, including a slight chlorine or swimming-pool-like smell. Both forms of chlorinated water remain safe for drinking, cooking, bathing, watering plants, and other common household uses.

The City will also conduct hydrant flushing throughout the water system. This may temporarily cause cloudy water or sediment in some areas. If you notice this, simply run your tap until the water clears.

The City of North Miami is continuing to make progress on our Citywide Traffic Calming Program!

Two new speed tables have been successfully installed at the following locations:
📍 NE 13th Avenue between NE 139th Street and NE 140th Street
📍 NE 138th Street between NE 14th Avenue and NE 16th Avenue

These installations are part of the City’s initial rollout of traffic calming improvements designed to help reduce vehicle speeds, encourage safer driving, and enhance safety for residents, pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists throughout our neighborhoods.

As implementation continues, additional speed tables will be installed throughout the City, and we’ll continue keeping our community updated on the progress and completed locations.

Safer streets. Safer neighborhoods. A safer North Miami.

Registration for the Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program opens October 1–30, 2026. Apply to receive up to $60,000 in home repairs for:
✨Roofs, electrical upgrades & plumbing
✨Windows, doors, insulation & A/C
✨ADA improvements like grab bars & railings

📌Applicants must:
✔️Own and occupy a home in North Miami
✔️Be Homestead Tax Exempt
✔️Be current on mortgage, property taxes & insurance
✔️ Must not have outstanding code or utility billing liens
✔️Meet HUD income limits

Applications will be available October 1, 2026, at the Housing & Social Services Department, 12300 NE 8th Ave, North Miami, FL 33161.

Completed applications are accepted by appointment only until October 30, 2026.
