We spend billions preparing families for birth.

Then expect them to navigate recovery with minimal support.

One postpartum visit.

A recovery period that lasts months.

Mental health challenges that often go unnoticed.

A system that still treats postpartum as an endpoint instead of the beginning of a new chapter.

Parents deserve better.

Not because postpartum is a crisis.

Because postpartum is one of the most significant transitions a person will ever experience.

The more we understand the realities of postpartum, the better we can advocate for the support families truly need.

For many families pursuing surrogacy, feeding can feel like one of the first big decisions after birth.

What many people don’t realize is that formula is not the only option.

Depending on your family’s goals and circumstances, there may be several pathways to consider, including surrogate-provided breast milk, induced lactation, donor milk, formula feeding, or a combination of approaches.

Every family’s journey is different. What feels right for one family may not feel right for another, and that’s okay.

My hope is that this guide helps expand your understanding of the options available so you can make informed decisions that align with your values, your goals, and your baby’s needs.

The most important thing is not how your baby is fed. It’s that your baby is nourished, loved, and cared for by the people who have worked so hard to bring them into the world.

We are living through a remarkable shift in technology, and I think AI is an incredible tool. It can help us learn, create, solve problems, and expand access to information in ways we never could before.

But the work I do has never been about information alone.

It is about sitting beside a new parent at 2 a.m. when they are exhausted and unsure of themselves. It is about helping someone feel seen, heard, and supported during one of the biggest transitions of their life.

It is about a baby settling into a warm chest, recognizing a familiar heartbeat, finding comfort in a parent’s scent, and building trust through human connection.

Technology can answer questions. It can organize information. It can provide guidance.

But nurturing is uniquely human.

Babies will always need connection. Parents will always want loving, trusted people caring for and supporting their families. No technology can replace the feeling of being held, comforted, reassured, or loved.

Human connection will always matter 🤍

I am so honored to be nominated for the 2026 Los Angeles Business Journal Women’s Leadership Awards.

Your Devoted Doula was born out of my own postpartum experience, which brought with it the profound realization that parents are often expected to navigate one of the most transformative and vulnerable times of their lives with little to no support, guidance, or community. Watching so many parents quietly struggle around me, while also witnessing firsthand the overwhelming lack of accessible support and resources available to new families, made it immediately clear that I wanted to be part of the solution.

What we’ve built today would not exist without the people cheering me on, supporting me, mentoring me, and working beside me.

Kaley, Karina, and Katie have helped shape this company into what it is. The level of care they pour into families is something I wish more people could witness firsthand. They are thoughtful, calming, deeply compassionate, and incredibly dedicated to the families they support. I am endlessly grateful to work alongside women who lead with so much kindness and integrity.

✨And of course, none of this would exist without the families who have trusted us with their care. Thank you for allowing us into your lives during such a sacred transition. Thank you for trusting us with your babies, your recovery, your fears, your questions, your hardest days, your beautiful days, and your growth into parenthood. There truly are no words for the level of gratitude I feel for that trust.✨

We still have so much we hope to build, improve, and expand. Our goal has always been to create more comprehensive, thoughtful, and accessible support for families while continuing to redefine the way postpartum care and family wellness are viewed and supported. We’re incredibly grateful for how far this journey has come, and we look forward to continuing to grow, advocate, and care for the families of our community.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey, believed in this mission, referred us, trusted us, encouraged us, or simply cheered us on from afar. We are incredibly grateful 🤍

Last call! Any parents who are struggling with sleep or want to understand what to expect in the months to come, we are hosting a Sleep Basics Workshop! and Your Devoted Doula are teaming up to help you all navigate sleep during each stage of your little one’s journey.

This is NOT a sleep training class. This is about understanding how sleep actually works at each stage, what the research shows about infant sleep patterns, and how to respond in a way that feels aligned for you.

This class is designed to bring some clarity back in.

We’ll walk through what’s actually normal for your baby’s age, how to read their sleep cues, and what’s worth adjusting (and what you can release). We’ll cover naps, night wakings, regressions, and how to build a rhythm that feels realistic for your family.

Sleep isn’t one-size-fits-all. Every baby is different, every family is different. The goal here is to help you build an approach that actually works for your unique needs, not someone else’s.

You’ll also learn simple infant massage techniques to help your baby settle and relax — something you can begin using right away.

All parents and parents-to-be are welcome. This is a supportive, judgment-free space to ask questions and leave with a clearer plan.

Why Sleep Matters for Babies (and Parents Too) 💤

Sleep is one of the most important parts of a baby’s development. While babies rest, their brains are forming new connections, their bodies are growing, and their nervous systems are learning how to regulate and recover.

Healthy sleep supports:
• Brain development
• Growth and physical recovery
• Emotional regulation
• Memory and learning
• Immune function

And while infant sleep can feel unpredictable at times, understanding what’s normal at each stage can make a huge difference for the whole family.

Because the truth is: when babies are sleeping better, parents usually feel more supported, rested, and regulated too.

Swipe through to learn why sleep is so essential in the early years and how healthy sleep foundations can support your little one’s overall wellbeing. ✨

Research has shown measurable neurological changes during pregnancy and postpartum, particularly in areas associated with bonding, vigilance, emotional processing, and responsiveness to an infant’s needs.

In many ways, the maternal brain becomes more finely tuned to a baby.

That heightened awareness can look like increased protectiveness, emotional sensitivity, difficulty “switching off,” lighter sleep, or constantly monitoring your baby’s needs. While these changes are biologically purposeful, navigating them without adequate support can also feel incredibly overwhelming.

Postpartum is a massive neurological, hormonal, emotional, and psychological transition happening all at once.

We were never meant to do it alone.
