Operational Security (OPSEC)
All personnel (including families and friends of service members) have a responsibility to ensure that no information that might put our military members in jeopardy or would be of use to our adversaries is posted to websites that are readily accessible to the public. Not surprisingly, that information includes, among other things, technical information, operation plans, troop movement schedules, current and future locations of military units and ships, descriptions of overseas bases, details of weapons system, or discussions of areas frequented by service members overseas. Other information that’s not as obvious but should also not be discussed in an open forum includes daily military activities and operations, equipment status, unit morale, and results of operations. Any of these topics, if released in an open medium, have the ability to provide our adversaries opportunities to harm our military members. External Links (including Advertising Links) The appearance of external hyperlinks does not constitute endorsement by the United States Arkansas National Guard of the linked web sites, or the information, products or services contained therein. The United States Arkansas National Guard does not exercise any editorial control over the information you may find at these locations. Arkansas National Guard facilities are closed, 10 January 2025

Arkansas National Guard facilities are closed, 10 January 2025, to the public due to inclement weather, although guardsmen are actively assisting the citizens of Arkansas.

Emergency Essential employees are expected to report to their worksites unless otherwise directed by their supervisory chain of command.

Non-emergency Essential employees will generally be granted an excused absence. Specific guidance related to personnel accountability and payroll processing will be published through the supervisory chain of command.

For the Arkansas National Guard units conducting previously scheduled training activities on the weekend of 11-12 January, delayed reporting of 2 hours is approved for Saturday morning. Local unit commanders are encouraged to make any reasonable accommodations required to ensure the safety of our Soldiers and Airmen. One example of a reasonable accommodation would be scheduling makeup training for any Soldiers or Airmen who have lengthy travel requirements to arrive at their duty stations.

Arkansas State Offices Closed Thursday and Friday

Due to inclement winter weather statewide and out of an abundance of caution, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has closed state office buildings except for critical operations Thursday, January 9th, and Friday, January 10th, 2025.

State employees who can telework should do so, and agencies may implement liberal leave policies for their employees who cannot telework.

Week in Review:

The Arkansas Attorney General’s office with the Office of Legal Assistance hosted a Veterans’ Day CLE. In addition to helping facilitate the event all of our office’s attorneys attended the event.

Our attorneys and several Arkansas National Guard Judge Advocates learned about proactive cyber public protection, ethical representation of clients, and SMs discharge characterization upgrades for VA benefits.
