The NLR Book Express will be in your schools' neighborhoods this month. Students will be able to pick out books, register for the upcoming school year, and grow their reading skills -- all on one bus.

Ms. Kriss Marshell, who currently serves as the English to Speakers of Other Languages and World Languages Coordinator, has been appointed to serve as the Executive Director of Middle School Improvement. In this restructured plan, the Executive Director of Middle School Improvement acts as the school’s principal, as Ms. Marshell will oversee all operations at the campus.

Yesterday, our NLRSD district and campus leadership teams gathered at UA - Pulaski Tech for the Academies of Central Arkansas Foundation Annual Retreat!

It was a fantastic afternoon spent celebrating our successes, diving into the core Ford NGL model elements, and strategic planning for the future alongside Ford NGL President Cheryl Carrier and Community Coach Lisa Oleski.

Congratulations to the NLRSD Communications Department on winning two Publications and Digital Media Excellence Awards from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA)!

The district earned an Award of Merit for its 2024–2025 Annual Report, as well as an Honorable Mention for the career academies' course selection infographics.

Entries are judged on overall excellence and quality compared to peers across the country of similar organization type and size.

The NLRSD Communications Team consists of Dustin Barnes, communications coordinator; Brooke Davis, graphics and website administrator; and Hayden Tursky, multimedia facilitator. The team will be formally recognized at the NSPRA National Seminar later this summer.

Founded in 1935, NSPRA provides school communication training and services to school leaders to more than 3,000 professionals worldwide.
