Yesterday MCHS Falcon Band students practiced and performed with two university bands! One group went to the University of Central Arkansas, while another group went to Henderson State University!! It was crazy hot! But, our band students followed all instructions about heat safety and even though there were temperature/heat delays, they still got to perform with a University band at a football game halftime!!

Maumelle Charter High School Highlights of the Week

Mrs. McIntosh's AP Language classes worked in small groups to create a Disney Villain rhetorical analysis "one-pager."

Mr. Kalkbrenner's AP Physics Lab were measuring the time it takes a cart of various mass to go a set distance in order to calculate the acceleration of the cart and compare that acceleration with the theoretical acceleration they calculated from newtons 2nd law a=F/m!

🌙 Memphis Twilight XC Recap! 🌙

The Sr. High boys and girls XC teams competed in the Memphis Twilight last night, and what a great experience it was for everyone! Our athletes represented Maumelle Charter extremely well, with several outstanding performances!

🏃‍♀️ Mia McFarland — 9th Place | 18:54
Mia finished 9th out of 345 runners! As a sophomore, she ran an incredibly strong race and continues to show just how much potential she has. We can’t wait to see what the rest of her season holds!

⭐ Mia’s 9th-place finish is the highest individual finish by a Maumelle Charter runner in school history!

🏆 Caleb McFarland — 1st Place | 15:34
Caleb took home 1st place out of 434 runners, becoming the first Maumelle Charter athlete to win the Memphis Twilight!

Caleb entered the race seeded 2nd and knew he would need to run a strong race to come away with the win. He entered the stadium in 1st place and finished with a strong kick to stretch out the lead and secure the victory!

🔥 Roth Williamson — 21st Place | 16:30
Roth finished 21st out of 434 runners! He continues to put together a strong senior season, and this performance should give him even more confidence as we move forward.

We would also like to give a huge THANK YOU to our Booster Club for feeding the team and providing everything they needed for a successful trip. Your support means so much to our athletes and coaches!

This is a race and an experience that everyone will remember for a long time. We are incredibly proud of this group!

Ms. Millers classes participated in a run/write/draw lesson in Spanish 2 where a group member runs outside the classroom to read a Spanish phrase, comes back in the classroom to relay the message to the team, and the team then comes up with a writing and drawing while cheering each other on. Way to keep learning fun and exciting!
