North Liberty City Government

North Liberty City Government The official page of the City of North Liberty, connected to what matters since Nov. 10, 1913. North Liberty is connected to what matters. B. C. D. E. F. G. H. I.

North Liberty is a thriving, young community in the heart of Iowa City-Cedar Rapids region; a family-friendly small town but with easy access to big-city amenities. We work, at the headquarters of local media, regional financial and national transportation companies or with solar energy and tech startups and entrepreneurs getting their big ideas off the ground. North Liberty is a place where we pl

ay, as home to sweeping sunsets over backyards and open fields, ice cream on the way home from baseball after school, miles of trails and acres of parks. We grow, with new schools and new residents, with rain gardens and heart, and from toddlers to teenagers. And we kid, with great schools, recreation and library programs and with each other at work, school and on the local restaurant patio. North Liberty is home to neighbors you know and people you love, and a place near Hawkeye sports, world-class healthcare, performing arts and shopping in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids.

"LRS values our partnership with the City of North Liberty. Recent staffing shortages in our local operation have led to collection delays that fell short of the service residents expect, and we take responsibility for that.

"We moved quickly to correct it. We have hired seven new drivers, with five additional offers pending. While our new team members complete training, LRS is bringing in eight of our most experienced drivers from across the company to support our Iowa service areas. We expect all new drivers to be fully up to speed by July 17, with every route operational and service back to the standard LRS and our customers expect.

"As an act of goodwill, we will credit all North Liberty residential customers with one month of free recycling and waste services.

"We appreciate the City's patience and are committed to delivering the dependable service North Liberty deserves."

City Staff is working to implement the credit in our billing system. Once implemented, the credits will appear on North Liberty residential utility accounts.

The City of North Liberty has been working with LRS to address service issues with collection. The company has offered a statement on North Liberty residential service: LRS values our partnership with the City of North Liberty. Recent staffing shortages in our local operation have led to collection....

For one hour, summer gets to feel like magic instead of mayhem. Somewhere between the last light and the first star, there's a version of you that's completely unbothered. Let's find her.

Meet us on the outdoor pool deck as the sun goes down for a 30-minute all-levels yoga practice focusing on reconnecting with our breath and going with the flow of the movement. Chairs are available for a seated flow if you prefer. No experience needed, just a willingness to slow down and breathe.

Then we take it to the water for a submersive sound bath, where live chimes, singing bowls, and other instruments wash over you as you float. All you have to do is let the sound carry you. Pool noodles and aqua belts are provided. Wear swimwear with shorts or leggings to move easily from the deck to the pool. Bring a yoga mat, a towel, and your inner mermaid. Ages 19+.

Amanda Lund, known as Madam Curiosa, is a yoga teacher and sound practitioner dedicated to creating welcoming, body-inclusive spaces where movement meets mindfulness. She is founder of Club Curiosa, a wellness studio in Williamsburg, IA where movement, magic, and curiosity all have a seat at the mat.

Mermaid Sunset Yoga is on Thursdays June 18, July 16, and Aug. 13 from 8 to 9 p.m. Each session is $20.
