At the 2026 Red, White & Cards event on June 20th we honored several people who have made a significant impact on the district and community. This year we inducted Bob Davidson into our Hall of Fame (Coach). Bob was head softball coach at Triad High School from 1985-1999. Bob started the softball program and shortly thereafter helped the program earn its first ever WCOC Championship in 1987. He moved to North Lewisburg in the 1950s after serving his Nation in the United States Army during World War II. Bob played and coached fastpitch softball for many years and is a member of the Fastpitch Softball Hall of Fame. The highlight of his coaching career was leading the Lady Cardinals to the 1992 Division III state championship. Bob dedicated many years to the Triad and North Lewisburg community by helping maintain the ball fields in North Lewisburg and made lasting contributions to the growth and success of Triad Softball. Bob died on July 8, 2022 but will long be remembered for the impact he had on Triad Lady Cardinals softball.

At the 2026 Red, White & Cards event on June 20th we honored several people who have made a significant impact on the district and community. This year we inducted Bob Delaney into our Hall of Fame (Legacy Award). Bob is a 1948 graduate of Cable High School. During his high school baseball career he was considered the best left-handed pitcher in Champaign County. He led the Cable High School baseball team to a district championship in 1946. During his senior season for Cable, in 1948, he had an 11-3 win/loss record as a starting pitcher while only allowing 34 hits in 14 games and struck out 144 batters and gave up only 14 walks. He also played high school basketball for Cable HS and, in 1947, their team was runner-up in the Champaign County high school basketball tournament. Bob was signed to a minor league baseball contract right out of high school in June of 1948. He was initially signed by the New York (baseball) Giants in 1948 and then later signed with the New York Yankees. He played for each franchise’s farm systems up to AAA baseball for Newark (OH). He also made minor league stops at Oshkosh, Springfield, and Lake Champlain. Bob Delaney retired from professional baseball in 1951 and continued his amateur athletic career by playing fastpitch softball for the North Lewisburg Firemen and slowpitch softball for Howard Supply. He spent over 35 years coaching and umpiring little league baseball and softball games and, in fact, was named to the Little League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1993 for his contributions. Bob Delaney died on April 20, 1997 in Urbana, Ohio.

She also had two routines with no drops.

At the 2026 Red, White & Cards event on June 20th we honored several people who have made a significant impact on the district and community. This year we inducted Johnny Smith into our Hall of Fame (Athlete). Johnny was a three sport athlete who participated in football, basketball and baseball at Triad. He lettered in football his sophomore, junior and senior years. He was named Special Mention WCOC his sophomore year (1996), and First Team WCOC his junior (1997) and senior seasons (1998). He was also named All Southwest District in football his senior year. In basketball he was named First Team WCOC his junior (14 ppg) and senior (18 ppg) seasons (1997-98 and 1998-99). During his senior season of basketball he was a member of the first Triad Boys basketball team to win a WCOC Championship in school history. In baseball he was named Second Team All State his senior year in 1999 and also named WCOC Baseball Player of the Year in 1998 and 1999. In 1999, his senior season, he held a batting average of .489 and recorded 147 total strikeouts as a pitcher and finished the season with a 10-1 record as a starting pitcher. Johnny Smith was a three time winner of Triad’s Most Outstanding Male Athlete in 1997, 1998 and 1999.
After graduating from Triad, Johnny says he: “Pitched in NAIA College World Series in my freshman year of College at Shawnee State University with a 7-0 pitching record earning 1st team AMC all freshman TEAM honors . I transferred to Urbana University sophomore year and won over 20 games as a pitcher in 3 years earning all AMC conference pitching honors Sophomore , Junior & Senior seasons. I finished my pitching career with multiple pitching career and single season records at Urbana University including career wins records with 20, complete games records with 20, top 3 in strikeouts , top 3 in innings pitched , top 3 in batters faced and top 3 in career era percentage! I graduated from Urbana University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management! I now live in Delaware, Ohio with my beautiful wife of 20 years Jen , and our three amazing kids Jaxon, Berkley , and Bellamy ! I currently run our family horse racing and real estate businesses and have been a Nationwide Sales Leader for Trugreen since 2006!
Johnny says his favorite memory as a Triad athlete was: “Winning The First WCOC Boys Basketball Title in School History my Senior Season and throwing 2 no hitters in my baseball career in 97’ vs Mechanicsburg and in 99’ vs West-Liberty Salem !”
Lastly Johnny says: “"I am incredibly honored and humbled to be inducted into the Triad High School Athletics Hall of Fame. To be included among so many talented athletes and individuals I’ve long admired is truly special.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to my coaches, teammates, and the entire community for their unwavering support throughout my career. The lessons I learned on the court and the field shaped who I am today, and the memories we made together remain some of my most cherished. Thank you for this recognition—it is a moment I will always hold with immense pride.

At the 2026 Red, White & Cards event on June 20th we honored several people who have made a significant impact on the district and community. This year we inducted Gene Harper into our Hall of Fame (Community Member/Contributor). Gene is a 1959 graduate of Triad High School. After high school he served his Nation in the United States Air Force. One of Gene’s most important claims to fame happened when he was in the 5th grade and won a contest to name the newly consolidated school district. Gene came up with the name “Triad” to symbolize the consolidation of schools in North Lewisburg, Woodstock, and Cable. Gene dedicated over 25 years of service to the Triad Athletic Boosters and was instrumental in the construction of the initial fieldhouse and “crows nest” at the high school football field. He also dedicated many hours to volunteering at the school, volunteering during athletic events, helping construct and maintain athletic facilities, and helping at athletic concessions. Gene has two sons, Chris and Mark who also graduated from Triad.
Gene says his favorite memory while being part of the Triad community would be “getting voted into the Athletic Boosters Hall of Fame.” He’s also proud of being the one who helped “name the school district.”

At the 2026 Red, White & Cards event on June 20th we honored several people who have made a significant impact on the district and community. This year we inducted Libby Moses into our Hall of Fame (Athlete). Libby was a three sport Triad athlete who participated in golf, basketball and softball. She was a vital member of the golf team when it was still a co-ed sport. She was a member of the first Triad softball team to win a WCOC Championship in 1987. Libby was named first team WCOC in softball in 1986 and 1987. Libby lettered in basketball her sophomore, junior and senior seasons and is the first girls basketball player in Triad history to eclipse 1000 career points and did it while only playing three varsity seasons (1009 career points). She was named First Team WCOC in girls basketball in 1986 and 1987. Libby was also named Triad’s Most Outstanding Female Athlete in 1986 and 1987.
After graduating from Triad, Libby says she “Played basketball for four years, softball for two years and golf for one year at Northern Kentucky University and taught Business education for 28 years in Northern Kentucky. I have worked at a golf course most of the time, currently Twin Oaks.”
In regards to her favorite memories while participating in athletics at Triad she says: “A lot of them revolve around the golf team, mainly the drives to the course with Rick LeMasters. I am surprised we are still alive, practicing with Carol Parker and just having fun. Really all the sports were fun, we may not have won a lot but we all got along well. We began the softball team and our first year was our junior year and Bob Davidson was our coach. We did pretty well if I remember right.”
