Twenty-five years ago, our nation witnessed extraordinary acts of courage, compassion, and sacrifice.

Today, AMR and MedicWest honor the memory of the 2,977 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and pay tribute to the first responders who answered the call without hesitation. We also remember the thousands who were injured, the families forever changed, and the countless heroes whose bravery shined through one of our nation's darkest days.

As EMS professionals, we are reminded of the profound responsibility and privilege of serving our communities during their most difficult moments. The heroes of 9/11 exemplified the very best of public service, and their legacy continues to inspire us every day.

We remember their sacrifice. We honor their courage. We carry their commitment to service forward.

It is with heavy hearts that we remember and honor John Osborn, whose life of service, dedication, and compassion left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

John devoted many years to serving his community, answering every call with professionalism, skill, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. Whether responding in moments of crisis or offering comfort during difficult times, he approached every patient and every situation with kindness and respect. The lives he touched through his work are countless, and his contributions to our community will never be forgotten.

Beyond his service, John was a valued colleague, mentor, and friend. He shared his knowledge freely, supported those around him, and set an example of professionalism and integrity that inspired so many throughout his career. His calm presence, willingness to help, and genuine care for others made a difference not only in the field but also in the lives of those who worked alongside him. His legacy lives on through the many providers he encouraged, taught, and influenced over the years.

Today, as family, friends, coworkers, and loved ones gather to celebrate John's life, we reflect on the remarkable person he was and the lasting mark he left on our EMS family and the community he faithfully served.

Our crews spend every day taking care of patients and serving our community, so we wanted to show them some care in return!

We detailed and deep cleaned every MedicWest ambulance from front to back. Now our crews can begin each call in a refreshed space that reflects just how much we appreciate the important work they do.

Since 2020, AMR Las Vegas and MedicWest have proudly partnered with Nellis Air Force Base to help prepare The Reaper Program medics and critical care paramedics for deployment. By third-riding on our ambulances, they gain real-world experience while practicing their full scope of skills.

We recently welcomed Col. Mary Carnduff, commander of the 99th Medical Group, and her team to our MedicWest location to tour our operation and collaborate on the program.

We’re proud to support this important partnership alongside the Southern Nevada Health District and University Medical Center.

We had an incredible time at the Laughlin Back to School Health & Wellness Fair! It was a great opportunity to connect with families, meet members of the community, share important health and safety resources, and help everyone get ready for a successful school year.

Today, the AMR and MedicWest family joins LVMPD and the entire Southern Nevada community in mourning the tragic loss of LVMPD Officer Austin Abdelnabi.

Officer Abdelnabi dedicated his life to protecting others with courage, honor, and an unwavering commitment to serving our community. His sacrifice is a solemn reminder of the risks our first responders face each day in service to others.

We extend our deepest condolences to Officer Abdelnabi’s family, friends, and every member of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department during this incredibly difficult time. Please know that your EMS family stands beside you as you grieve this tremendous loss.

We will never forget Officer Austin Abdelnabi’s service, sacrifice, and the legacy he leaves behind.

It is with heavy hearts that we remember and honor John Osborn, a longtime paramedic whose dedication to serving our community left a lasting impact.

For many years, John faithfully served the community, answering the call whenever help was needed. His compassion, professionalism, and commitment to caring for others touched countless lives; both the patients he served and the colleagues who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Beyond the calls he responded to, John made an immeasurable impact on the people who worked beside him. He was a trusted mentor, a patient teacher, and a steady partner who generously shared his knowledge and experience with countless EMTs and paramedics throughout his career. Whether it was offering guidance to a new employee, helping a partner through a difficult call, or simply leading by example, John helped shape the careers and lives of so many in our EMS family. His legacy will continue to be seen in the providers he inspired and the high standard of care they carry forward.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with John’s family, friends, and all who knew and loved him during this difficult time.

Today, we celebrate the freedoms that unite us and honor the generations of Americans who have helped shape our nation’s story. As we look ahead to America’s 250th Anniversary in 2026, we’re reminded that service, sacrifice, and community have always been at the heart of our country.

From all of us at AMR and MedicWest, thank you to our paramedics, EMTs, dispatchers, mechanics, support staff, and first responders who are working around the clock this holiday to keep our communities safe.
