Rev. Daniel Goodwin served as rector of St. Paul's Church from 1869-1874 and was the main influence in building the clock tower and steeple of that building. Goodwin went on to lead the parish at St. Luke's Church in East Greenwich, and, after his death in 1922, a tower with chimes was built there with money donated by his widow. An 1870 letter addressed to the reverend, recently donated to the library, offers a glimpse into his life. Read more about the reverend in the latest issue of the North Kingstown Historic Genealogical Society newsletter: https://tinyurl.com/NKHGS0526
