For nearly 40 years beginning in 1882, the Wickford House on Main St. was a destination for travelers across New England and beyond. Ellen "Mother" Prentice was an authority on our region's cooking and drew national attention when she publicly corrected First Lady Grace Coolidge's corn muffin recipe. This month's edition of the North Kingstown Historic Genealogical Society newsletter features photos and a memoir written by G. Edward Prentice, Mother Prentice's grandson.
