Rhode Island Wing, Civil Air Patrol Civil Air Patrol, the official auxiliary of the U.S. CAP, in its Air Force auxiliary role, performs 90 percent of continental U.S. military veterans.

Air Force, and a newly named member of the Air Force "Total Force" is a nonprofit organization with more than 61,000 members nationwide. inland search and rescue missions as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center and was credited by the AFRCC with saving an average of 70 lives annually. Its volunteers also perform homeland security, disaster relief and drug interdiction missions at the

request of federal, state and local agencies. The members play a leading role in aerospace education and serve as mentors to the more than 26,000 young people currently participating in CAP cadet programs. CAP has been performing missions for America for 75 years. CEAP Round 2 application period opens today! Cadets can apply for CEAP Round 2 from 15 June – 1 July. Notifications on approvals will be emailed the first week of July. Cadets who applied for the listed encampments in Round 1 and were not funded do not need to apply again.

Brig. Gen. Regena Aye has been named Civil Air Patrol's next national commander and the corporation’s CEO by the CAP Board of Governers. She has been national vice commander since 2021 and has more than 30 years of CAP service. It is with deep sadness that we inform you about the passing of Lt Col Susan E. Schindler earlier today.

Lt Col Schindler has served CAP since 1995 in Connecticut, New Yok and Rhode Island Wings in Squadron, Group and Wing Staff Positions. Most recently as Inspector General for Rhode Island Wing. For her service to the Inspector General Corps in the Northeast Region she was awarded the Meritorious Service Award earlier this year.

Our hearts go out to Lt Col Schindler’s family, including her husband Lt Col Len Schindler, at this difficult time. Please keep them in your thoughts.
