Been a busy few days at “The Heights”. Aside from running numerous emergency storm related calls between Thursday night and today we’ve been working on improvements around the station.

Gerkin Roofing donated their time and completed the roof overhang above the truck bays.

And thanks to Mark Dawson for your donation of exercise/ physical fitness equipment for the station for our members to use. This new equipment is a great addition to our ongoing station updates!!

Stay tuned for more updates on what’s happening around the station. We are working hard to make HHVFD great again!!

Phase II done today. Phase II was the finishing of the overhang roof over the garage door, complements of Gerkin Roofing/Morgan Cottrill! Next phase, Phase III, is the Board & Batten metal siding on the face of the truck bays. Phase IV, is the lights and back lite red LED sign above the garage doors! HHVFD making it great again!!!! Way more to come! Stay tuned for the finished project!!

***Attention all residents of Hartford Heights area***

North Huntingdon Township has placed a dumpster in our parking lot for residents that have flood debris that need disposed of. The dumpster is located in our front parking lot at the corner by the entrance to Magnus Ln (where the corn guy used to sell corn)

This is available to any township resident that’s in need of flood debris disposal only.

Thank you North Huntingdon Township for providing this to our residents.

There’s a place for everyone at “The Heights”. You don’t have to wear gear and get on the trucks to serve your community. A volunteer organization runs best with a variety of members that have experience in all kinds of different fields.

We have a variety of different membership from active firefighters to junior firefighters. Our juniors are ages 14-18. They are restricted by child labor laws on things they can do, but what they can do is always a big help at emergencies and other events.

Interested in being a part of a great organization and helping your neighbors? Feel free to stop by the station our meeting nights are the 2nd Thursday of the month. Or send us a message we would be happy to drop by your residence and drop off an application.

Remember it’s very important to guarantee you get one of our freshly made hoagies that you pre order.

We make these hoagies fresh the morning of pick up and make what’s ordered.

Thursday night work detail at The Heights.

Crews worked on removing our old siren. Our siren hasn’t worked in many years. Crews with the assistance of Tower 1 unbolted and lowered the old siren onto a trailer where it’s going to be taken and repaired if possible and donated to another fire department.

After that crews then hung the black mourning bands to honor Chuck Snyder, one of our life members who passed away earlier I. The week.

We also finished up some wiring for our roof overhang, and placed a new spot light on the flag pole.

Hello to the Hartford Height fire district residents and businesses. A lot has been happening at the firehall station lately. We have been working hard to bring the station up to date, a new roof, sky lights, two new furnaces in the truck bays, new SCBA was station, new Big screen tv for the banquet hall, two new commercial air conditioner units on the new roof, new storage shipping container for organization of equipment, new tv monitors for our Responder Reporting system for both truck bays, changing the face of the truck bays to make it more professional. We brought back the old school carnival to bring more unity to our community! We are hosting a car show here in the very near future. We have gained new members and we can use some more help. We are always looking for new members so come on and join our progressing team! We just want to give those who we service a little look at all the new upgrades that have been happening. So, again come join our crew! Thank you and always be safe out there.

From all of us at HHVFD we would like to thank everyone for your support at our “bringing back the old days” carnival last week. The turn out was amazing. Was nice seeing so many from the community enjoying an evening supporting your local VFD.

When the membership decided to hold the carnival it wasn’t mainly for a fundraiser, it was to hold a local event for the community to enjoy. We appreciate all the positive compliments and thank you’s (especially on the video arcade.) We are hoping to make this a yearly event.

Please tell us how we did. Any suggestions or things we could have done better?

Thank you all who came out and joined us last night for our “bringing back the old days” carnival.

We apologize for running out of fries we went thru 100 pounds of potatoes in 2 hours. We are working on adjusting the amount we make.

There’s still 3 more nights left to come out and have some good old fashioned family fun!!

Don’t forget to check out our video arcade set up in our event hall!
