The Abington Township Fire Department is proud to launch our 3rd Annual Breast Cancer T-shirt Sale in support of the Breathing Room Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping local families affected by cancer. The online store will be open from August 10th to September 20th, so make sure to get your orders in!

Every shirt purchased helps support an incredible cause while raising awareness in the fight against breast cancer. This year's design is available in 10 sizes, including regular and tall options. We are accepting online orders only, and all orders can be picked up at your local fire station during Fire Prevention Week October 5 - October 9.

Edge Hill Fire Company would like to extend our sincere thanks to Governor Josh Shapiro and the Shapiro Administration for their continued investment in Pennsylvania’s fire and emergency services.
Abington Township has been awarded $99,828 through the 2026 Emergency Training Center Grant Program to support improvements to our local fire training grounds.
These training grounds are an invaluable resource for our firefighters, providing a place to develop and maintain the hands-on skills necessary to safely and effectively serve our community. Investments in training facilities are investments directly into the safety of both our firefighters and the residents we protect.
As a 100% volunteer organization, we’re grateful for funding that helps provide our members and our fellow Abington Township firefighters with quality facilities to train, learn, and prepare for the challenges we face on the fireground.
Thank you to Governor Shapiro, the Shapiro Administration, and everyone involved in securing this funding for Abington Township.

At 3:43 a.m. this morning, Edge Hill Fire Company was dispatched to the area of Garfield Avenue and Jefferson Avenue for a report of visible flames coming from the windows of a residence.
Upon arrival, crews were met with a well-advanced fire. Despite the significant fire conditions, firefighters made an aggressive and coordinated attack that quickly brought the fire under control.
Ladder 400's crew deployed the second handline and knocked down the bulk of the fire through a window before advancing into the structure to continue extinguishment. Engine 400's crew supported the operation by deploying ground ladders and performing roof ventilation to improve interior conditions for firefighters operating inside.
Incidents like this are a reminder of the importance of teamwork, training, and the strength of the mutual aid system. We are incredibly proud of the professionalism and dedication displayed by our members and are especially grateful to all of our mutual aid companies who responded and worked alongside us this morning.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of our neighbors affected by this unfortunate incident.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to celebrate Independence Day with us!
While this year’s celebration wasn’t the traditional parade we’re all used to, we made the best of it together. Despite the summer heat, it was great seeing so many smiling faces, waving flags, and showing the community spirit that makes Edge Hill so special.
We hope everyone enjoyed the fireworks and had a safe and memorable Fourth of July. Your continued support means everything to our volunteer members, and we’re proud to serve such an incredible community.

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from Edge Hill Fire Company! 🇺🇸
Today, we celebrate 250 years of American independence—a milestone that reminds us of the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit that built this nation.
As we gather with family, friends, and neighbors to celebrate the Fourth of July, we also take a moment to honor the men and women who have defended our freedoms, and the first responders who continue to serve our communities every day.
From all of us at Edge Hill Fire Company, we wish everyone a safe and happy Independence Day. If you’re celebrating with fireworks, please do so responsibly, keep a safe distance, have water nearby, and leave the professional displays to the professionals whenever possible.

This week’s Monday night training focused on two critical firefighter skills: search techniques and water can operations.
Members reviewed search procedures and then put their skills to the test by advancing a water can through the building. The exercise emphasized accuracy, water conservation, and effective extinguishment techniques while operating in a simulated fire environment.
Crews also had the opportunity to train with a new visual fire behavior prop. This training aid demonstrated the importance of staying low during a fire and keeping any potential victims low as well. The prop clearly showed how cooler temperatures and higher oxygen levels exist closer to the floor, reinforcing why maintaining a low profile can significantly increase survivability in a fire environment.
Training like this helps ensure our members are prepared to operate safely and effectively when our community calls for help.

Monday night, members of Edge Hill teamed up with , , and Oreland Volunteer Fire Company for a large-scale live fire training exercise. Together, we completed four live fire evolutions, giving each company the opportunity to operate as the first due engine, second due engine, first due truck, and second due truck companies.
This training was another important step in strengthening our teamwork with the closest mutual aid companies that respond alongside us every day. By training together, we continue to improve communication, coordination, and overall operations to provide the best possible service to our community.
Collectively, more than 60 volunteer firefighters participated in the exercise. Great work by all companies involved and thank you to everyone who helped make the night a success!
