AmeriCorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) is a full-time, team-based residential program for young adults age 18–26. Members are assigned to one of four campuses, located in Aurora, Colorado; Sacramento, California; Vicksburg, Mississippi; and Vinton, Iowa. In partnership with non-profits—secular and faith based, local municipalities, state governments, federal government, national or st

ate parks, Indian Tribes and schools members complete service projects throughout the region they are assigned. Drawn from the successful models of the Civilian Conservation Corps of the 1930s and the U.S. military, AmeriCorps NCCC is built on the belief that civic responsibility is an inherent duty of all citizens and that national service programs work effectively with local communities to address pressing needs. Today we celebrate a milestone that fills our hearts with pride and hope! The inaugural AmeriCorps NCCC class of Forest Corps has graduated, marking the beginning of a journey that has transformed not only our nation's National Forest, but our entire world. You all have poured your passion into service, preserving and nurturing the beauty of nature, and inspiring us all to do the same. Your commitment to safeguarding our precious landscapes has made the world a brighter, greener place.

Every step you took in the forest echoed the promise of a better future and a promise that continues with the pledge, "I will carry this commitment with me this year and beyond." Today, that pledge starts anew, carrying with it the spirit of dedication and the power to change our communities and our world.

As you step forward into your future endeavors, remember that the legacy you’ve built here is only the beginning. You have shown us that through action, compassion, and resilience, we can truly make a difference. We wish you the very best on your path ahead—may your journey be as inspiring as the trails you have blazed.

Go out into the world and continue to GET THINGS DONE!!!!

Our AmeriCorps NCCC team is officially Advanced Tax Certified and hitting the ground running! 💸✅ The team has been hard at work in Los Angeles, partnering with Eastmont Community Center (ECC) to provide free tax filing services to local community members. Each day, team members spend 4-7 hours helping clients navigate their taxes, ensuring they receive the refunds and assistance they deserve! 💼📊

When they’re not crunching numbers, the team is getting their hands dirty in the ECC Garden, prepping it for transformation into a community outdoor kitchen. 🥕🌱 They also lend a hand in the ECC food pantry, organizing donations and assembling food bags for community members—especially those impacted by the recent LA fires. ❤️🔥

This week, half of the team attended ECC’s biggest event, "Tacos and Taxes" 🌮💰—a community gathering that offers both delicious food and free tax assistance! While media was present, no team members were interviewed… yet! With weekly events ahead, there will be plenty more opportunities for outreach! 🎥✨
