Last Night FEPD along with Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, Sac Metro Fire, and CHP - North Sacramento participated in National Night Out 2023 at several park districts throughout the north county area. It's was a great opportunity to interact with our community, share stories, and get to know one another. Thank you to all the hosts and the community that came out to take part in this amazing event.

A big congratulations to Ranger John Mohamed. Today he was recognized by the Dept of Interior on National Ranger Day for his life saving heroics. In May of 2022 Ranger Mohamed ran into a fully engulfed building to save the life of a gentleman. He was awarded the Medal of Valor and we are proud. Great Job representing Fulton-El Camino.

This morning at 0100hrs Chief Jim Brown (H100) went End of Watch for the last time with FEPD. Chief served over a decade of his 30+ year career with FEPD and our leader for the last 4. This is his first stage in retirement and will be fully completed later this year. It was an honor to serve under him as he was generous, kind, and always gave people the benefit of the doubt. He was a true leader and will be missed by all staff. Congrats to Chief Brown and may you enjoy many years in retirement.

On Sunday June 4th at approximately 750pm a call came into the communication center that a white male adult was in the bushes at Cottage Park near the play ground with his pants down and ge****ls exposed. Fulton-El Camino Park Police officers responded quickly and were able to get the subject detained before he left the park. After talking to witnesses they stated that he was touching himself while trying to summons children towards him. The alert victims were able to get photo/video evidence of the event. Arrested was JASON GARDNER of Sacramento. GARDNER has an extensive arrest history with multiple contacts with law enforcement including a prior conviction of child molestation. GARDNER is a registered s*x offender which enhances the current charges. GARDNER was booked into the Sacramento County Mail Jail on multiple charges including a felony.
