**SCAM ALERT**...and no we did not make this one up

Today Chief Walsh received a phone call and the below *fake* jury duty arrest warrant.

People are receiving documents that look like official federal arrest warrants claiming you missed jury duty and must pay $15,000 to avoid arrest. THIS IS A SCAM.

Real courts do NOT:
• Mail arrest warrants to the person being arrested
• Demand payment to a "3rd party bonding terminal"
• Ask you to pay to "prevent apprehension"

Do NOT send money. Do NOT call numbers on the document.

Report it to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov and your local police.

Today, the North Hampton community came together families, children, and neighbors to honor those who gave everything for our freedom. Seeing so many generations gathered in one place was a powerful reminder of why this day matters.

A heartfelt thank you to Army Veteran Kyle Saltonstall for your powerful words reminding us of the true meaning of Memorial Day honoring our Gold Star families and all those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to this nation. Your message moved us deeply.

Gratitude to Ms. Rachel Schmardel and the North Hampton Elementary School Choir for the beautiful, meaningful songs that filled the ceremony with heart and reverence. You made every family proud.

A special thank you to Joe Manzi of North Hampton Recreation for all you do to bring our community together, and to Commander Berk Bennett of the American Legion Post 35 in Hampton for coordinating such a dignified and beautiful ceremony.

To every family, every adult, and every child who showed up today, thank you. Your presence honors the fallen. It is together that we keep their memory alive, and it is moments like today that remind us of what it means to be a community.

We are forever grateful to our fallen heroes and the Gold Star families who carry their memory every day. May we never forget.

Starting Thursday, May 6th, the NH Department of Transportation will be conducting sidewalk construction along Ocean Blvd from Bass Beach North Hampton into Rye.

The project is expected to take approximately one week, with sidewalks ready for use by May 14th just in time for your summer walks!

For your safety, we kindly ask the public to be patient and avoid the area during construction due to uneven ground and equipment in the work zone.

Thank you so much for your understanding and anticipated cooperation. We can't wait for you to enjoy the finished sidewalks this summer

Today marks 14 years since Chief Michael Maloney died in the line of duty.

Chief Michael Maloney was from North Hampton. He was raised here, educated at Winnacunnet High School, and dedicated his career to this community—working his way up through the ranks to become Chief of Police for the North Hampton Police Department. He gave everything in service to the people he loved and swore to protect.

To his parents, siblings, wife, children, and grandchildren, please know that his sacrifice is not forgotten. Not today. Not ever. Thank you for sharing him with us.

In Chief Maloney’s honor, North Hampton officers will be waving to the people they pass today—a simple gesture of connection and respect, just as Mike embodied. We also challenge each of our officers to lead with patience every day, even when it’s hard, remembering that kindness and professionalism in every moment are the standards Chief Maloney set for all of us.

Wave back if you see us.

Rest easy, Chief. We’ve got it from here.
