Smoke from ongoing Canadian wildfires is expected to impact northern New Jersey, including Wayne, over the coming days. As air quality conditions change, we encourage everyone to stay informed and take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and their families. Limit prolonged outdoor activity when air quality is poor, keep windows and doors closed when possible, and pay close attention if you or a loved one has asthma, heart disease, or another respiratory condition. If you experience severe difficulty breathing or another medical emergency, call 911 immediately. Wayne Fire Company 1 will continue to monitor conditions and encourages everyone to stay safe and be prepared.🚨🔥🌲🚒
