☀️ It’s going to be a hot one today!

Cecil County is under a Heat Advisory until 8:00 p.m. this evening, with heat index values expected to reach over 100°F.

North East Fire Company encourages everyone to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity when possible, and check in on neighbors and loved ones who may be affected by the heat.

Today, June 12, 2026, the National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for the Cecil County area and various counties in Maryland. The advisory will be between the hours of ⏰11 am this morning to 8 pm this evening. ⏰

🔆Heat index value is expected to be over 100 degrees. 🔆

What you can do to prepare for high temperatures. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. If working outside, dress with lightweight and loose-fitting clothing. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments.
Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! In cases of heat stroke, call 9-1-1. 🚨

Today, North East Fire Company honors the heroes who gave their lives in service to our nation.

Memorial Day is more than a holiday, it is a time to reflect on the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication of the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms.

As a firehouse family, we understand the meaning of service, commitment, and standing beside one another through every challenge. Today, we remember those who never came home and honor the families who continue to carry their legacy forward.

May we never forget their sacrifice. 🇺🇸
