The North East 6th grade math students put their skills into practice while making sourdough banana muffins! From following instructions and measuring ingredients accurately to working as a team, students experienced firsthand how math, problem-solving, and collaboration come together in the kitchen.

Students also learned that the results aren’t always what we expect, and that mistakes and unexpected outcomes are an important part of the learning process!

The NAMI Walk is this Sunday, September 13, 2026. There will be a Ryan Smith memorial team that will be walking to honor the memory of our former North East student and show support for mental health awareness.

The North East High School Agricultural class learned how to make pickles in the new Ag Class. Our high school students put science and agriculture into practice through hands-on learning. Students explored the canning process while discovering the science behind food preservation, chemistry, and agriculture.

Experiences like this empower lifelong learning and show students how classroom concepts connect to and influence the world around them.

A special thank you to our community partner, Hirtzel Farm. Items for the project were purchased through a previous partnership grant with Mercyhurst University through the STEM & Vine program.
