Help Shape the Future of North Chicago!
JUST A REMINDER to join the City of North Chicago’s Economic Development team for a public Open House THIS WEDNESDAY, September 16 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Mosaic House-1645 Lincoln Street. We want to gather community input to assist us in developing the City’s Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). This is a come and go Open House format...so please stop by to share your thoughts and ideas anytime between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

A UDO brings zoning, development, subdivision, and other land-use regulations together into one coordinated set of rules that helps guide how property can be used and developed.

We want to hear from you! Join us to share your ideas about:
o Community priorities
o Development issues and opportunities
o Land use and growth
o The future of North Chicago

Your input will help inform the City’s consultants as they develop North Chicago’s next set of zoning and subdivision regulations. Join us to share your ideas and help shape the future of our community! We hope to see you there!

SWALCO stands for the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County, a municipal joint action agency in Illinois formed in 1991 to manage regional solid waste and recycling. Headquartered at 1311 N. Estes Street in Gurnee, SWALCO coordinates recycling programs, household chemical waste (HCW) collections, electronic recycling, and public education on reducing waste.

The City of North Chicago is pleased to share that the North Chicago Public Library is hosting two different Basic Computer Skills classes through the Lake County Digital Growth Initiative. By completion of this free program, residents can earn a free laptop. The first computer class series starts September 14th and the second series starts November 9th. Each series consists of six separate, two-hour long classes at the North Chicago Library. Please refer to the flyer for further information including how to sign-up.
