Hughie Thomasson (Hugh Edward Thomasson Jr.) (August 13, 1952 – September 9, 2007) was the guitarist, singer, songwriter, and longtime leader of The Outlaws. He helped define the band's Southern-rock sound through songs including There Goes Another Love Song and the epic guitar showcase Green Grass & High Tides.

Thomasson also spent nearly a decade playing guitar with Lynyrd Skynyrd before returning to The Outlaws. He died on September 9, 2007, aged 55. Today, on the 19th anniversary of his passing, we remember an important guitarist and songwriter from the golden era of Southern rock.
