🍎🥦 FRESH PRODUCE IS COMING TO CARNER! 🥕🍠

We’re excited to welcome Lowcountry Street Grocery to Carner Avenue Senior Center this fall! Their mobile farmers’ market will be setting up right here at the center once a month, giving our members an easy way to shop for fresh, locally sourced fruits, vegetables and more. 🌽🍅🍐

🛒 Fall Market Dates:

📅 Tuesday, October 27 | 11 AM–1 PM

The market accepts cash, credit and SNAP Back vouchers, and you never know what fresh, seasonal goodies might be in stock!

💎👖 Denim, diamonds & a whole lot of fun! 👖💎

Our Denim & Diamonds Soirée, hosted by our wonderful friends at CenterWell, brought together members from all three of our senior centers for one fabulous celebration! With a packed house, delicious food, music, laughter, and plenty of denim and sparkle, the afternoon was definitely one to remember. ✨

Of course, no soirée would be complete without a little friendly competition! Congratulations to Trish Chase, who dazzled her way to the title of Miss Denim & Diamonds 2026! 👑💎

We even had a special guest join the festivities when Mayor Reggie Burgess stopped by to mingle, share some laughs, and get in on the fun!

And a very special thank you to Ms. Wondia Richardson and Mrs. Karen Brown, who created all of the beautiful centerpieces that helped bring our Denim & Diamonds theme to life. Their creativity and hard work added the perfect finishing touch to our celebration! ✨

A huge thank you to CenterWell for putting together such a wonderful event and to everyone from Carner Avenue, Dorchester Road, and Northwood who came out and made it such a fantastic celebration. When all three centers get together, you know it’s going to be a good time! 💎✨

🍂 September is almost here, and we have a full month of fun planned at Carner Avenue! 🍁

We’re welcoming fall with plenty of opportunities to create, learn, move, play, and spend time together! 🌻

🌿 Grow something new at our Life’s A Garden Plant Workshop, get creative with Watercolor Mini Sunsets, Golden Acorn Vases & Tie Dye Shirts, brush up on your tech skills with the Charleston County Public Library Tech Team, shop fresh and local at our Lowcountry Street Grocery Market, and join us for Bingo, Friends on Friday, Game Day and more!

💪 And don’t forget to check out our September/October Fitness Schedule! With classes in the gym, on land, and in the pool throughout the week, there are plenty of ways to keep moving this fall.

🐆🎨 Wild about watercolor! Our artists had so much fun bringing these colorful cheetahs to life with watercolor! From playful patterns to plenty of personality, each one turned out completely unique. We loved seeing everyone put their own creative spin on this spotted masterpiece! 💚🖌️✨

🎤✨ We are family! ✨🎤

Our Pop-Up Karaoke on Friday had everyone singing, dancing, laughing, and having an absolute blast! A huge thank you to Mr. Kevin for hosting and keeping the music—and the good times—going all afternoon. 🎶

By the final song, just about everyone was on their feet singing and dancing together, proving what Sister Sledge has been telling us all along: “We Are Family!” 💃🕺❤️

Thank you to everyone who grabbed a mic, cheered on a friend, or joined us on the dance floor. This is what making memories together is all about! 🎤🎵
