When Gavin first joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lowcountry, his guardian hoped to connect him with something deeply meaningful: a positive male role model after losing his father at such a young age.

Since being matched with Vincent, she has seen meaningful changes in Gavin. He has become more communicative, more open, and returns from time with his Big feeling refreshed and ready to take on whatever life brings.

What makes this match especially powerful is that Vincent understands that experience personally. “I wish I had a mentor like this growing up. My dad passed away when I was young, and I could’ve used a role model back then.”

Today, Vincent is giving Gavin the kind of support and guidance he once needed himself, showing the lasting impact of a thoughtful match. 💚

Our matches took it to the water for a fun day of shark tooth hunting, swimming, dolphin sightings, and soaking up the sun. The afternoon was full of laughter and nonstop fun as our Bigs and Littles searched for shells and shark teeth together. 🌊 Every find and every splash sparked patience, resilience, and so many great memories along the way. Thank you to CHS Party Cat for having us again this year! 🦈☀️
