Great reminder from the North Branford Police Department

IT’S BACK TO SCHOOL TIME!

North Branford Public Schools are back in session NEXT Wednesday, August 26th.

That means more school buses, more children walking and biking, more traffic around our schools, and more activity in our neighborhoods during the morning and afternoon commute.

Next week be prepared to slow down and expect the unexpected.

🚸 Watch for children crossing streets and entering roadways.

🚌 Stop when a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop arm extended.

📵 Pay attention to the roadways.

🏫 Slow down for school-zones.

A few extra seconds behind the wheel can make all the difference.

Let’s make sure every student gets to school and back home safely.

The POCO festival will complicate traffic at varying times over the weekend, especially on Forest and Totoket Roads. All General Parking will enter off off Totoket Road, while Handicap and Vendor Parking will enter south of the Food Pantry/former Police Station. Please plan accordingly.

Tomorrow evening, the North Branford Potato and Roasted Corn (aka POCO) Festival will begin and run through early Sunday evening. This year the Festival features carnival rides, food and other vendors, entertainment, a wine and beer tent, medieval combat demonstrations, fireworks (Saturday night), a petting zoo, helicopter rides and a circus. https://nbpocofestival.com/
