April was Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and during that time we had increased patrol shifts for enforcement. In a joint effort with Lakes Area Police Department, North Branch Police Department, and Wyoming, MN Police Department we:

- Drove 1,196 miles of patrol
-Stopped 204 vehicles
-Wrote 88 citations
-Arrested 3 people for various violations and warrants

We will be continuing our increased enforcement of distracted driving, seatbelts, speed and DWI throughout the 100 deadliest days of summer (Memorial Day through Labor Day) when motor vehicle fatalities increase greatly.

Thank you to the AFJROTC for inviting us into your classroom. We are also truly grateful for the partnership!

Today in our Public Service Careers Week, we focused on Law Enforcement, and what it takes to serve and protect our communities.

A huge thank you to the North Branch Police Department and the Chisago County Sheriff's Office for taking the time to speak with our cadets. They shared valuable insight into the realities of the profession, the pathways into law enforcement. Most importantly they informed students on what they can start doing right now to prepare.

The best part? Many of the skills they highlighted, such as communication, problem solving, teamwork, and leadership, are all things our cadets are already developing every day in AFJROTC.

We’re grateful for your partnership and for everything you do to keep our community safe!
