Tomorrow, a landmark of Jewish life in Washington, DC celebrates its 150th anniversary 🎉
On June 9, the historic synagogue at the heart of the Lillian & Albert Small Capital Jewish Museum celebrates its 150 years, a milestone that reflects generations of Jewish gathering, memory, resilience, and community in our region.
These then-and-now photos tell a remarkable story: a building that has moved through the city and across time, carrying with it the history of Jewish life in our nation’s capital.
Federation is honored to join the Capital Jewish Museum in celebrating this milestone and the people, places, and institutions that continue to shape Jewish life across Greater Washington and beyond.
Stop by CJM anytime this summer to view new installations, display cases, and rare artifacts tied to this anniversary!
