Friends of The Trail

Friends of The Trail We are your resource in East King County for court-ordered community service! We do trash cleanups year round in the great outdoors.

Call us to inquire about working your hours off or just plain volunteering with us! We have come to realize that there are many organizations dedicated to caring for the environment and maintenance of our hiking trails and recreation areas. But there are few, if any, organizations dedicated to cleaning up public areas that see much abuse from illegal dumping, shooting and littering, including the

heavily used recreational areas. We fill this need to return our public lands and waterways to their pristine state, in the most cost-effective manner. There are many positive effects of our work such as improved wildlife habitat and water quality, prevention of other occurrences of illegal dumping, and contributing towards a more livable Washington for all its citizens.

Friends of the Trail reminds the East King County community that there are always legal alternatives to illegal dumping, but tomorrow, Saturday, May 2, 2026, it's going to be easier than ever to legally dispose of recyclables at no cost to you, thanks to the Snoqualmie Tribe and the City of North Bend Government, who are jointly sponsoring their annual recycling event at Snoqualmie Middle School. Please read the guidelines carefully and then load up your vehicle with eligible items. You'd be amazed at how much unwanted stuff you can safely and legally get rid of in one fell swoop. See you at the recycling event!

Watch Friends of the Trail deploy its tried and true method of hauling illegally dumped tires up from the bottoms of steep ravines on Washington state's public lands for proper disposal. And once the tires are out of there, we collect and bag all the rest of the trash rather than let it be an eyesore and pollute the environment.
