Coos County Democrats are proud to endorse John Sweet for County Commissioner Position #2.

Local government should not be about partisan loyalty, political nastiness, or importing national division into county leadership. It should be about service, sound judgment, stability, and doing what is best for Coos County.

That is why we are supporting John Sweet.

Our Precinct Committee People believe this race is an important chance to support the kind of leadership county government needs: practical, community-focused, open-minded, and willing to work with others to solve problems.

As Vice-Chair Ryan Tuss said, “County government works best when leaders stay focused on the people they serve and the real issues facing the county. This endorsement is about the kind of leadership we believe Coos County needs.”

We believe voters should choose leaders who put community ahead of ideology, approach issues with seriousness, and stay focused on results that benefit the people of this county.

As P*P Ginger Swan put it, “Voters deserve leaders who do not see every issue through a national lens, but through the lens of what is best for the community.”

We believe John Sweet has shown that kind of steady, community-first approach, and we are proud to support him for County Commissioner Position #2.
