The Village office has been informed that some residents have been unable to access the utility payment portal this afternoon. Our staff is working with the card processing company to correct the issue and hopes to have the portal operational as soon as possible.

The North Baltimore Festival Organization is hosting the 2nd Annual North Baltimore Fall Festival on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 9 AM to 9 PM in Downtown North Baltimore. Come spend the day enjoying fun, community, and tradition with activities for all ages, including free kids rides, a flea market, food trucks, live music, and more.

The Festival Organization has put together a great day for the community, and we hope everyone will come out to support the event. Bring your family, invite your friends, and enjoy a full day in Downtown North Baltimore.

Scrap Tire Recycling Event – Saturday, September 19

Wood County residents can drop off scrap tires from 9:00 AM–1:00 PM at the Wood County Fairgrounds parking lot, 13800 W. Poe Road in Bowling Green.

$1 per tire — cash only
Wood County residency ID required
Residential/passenger tires only
Tires must be off the rim and free of debris
Limit of 10 tires per vehicle
No businesses, semi tires, or agricultural tires
First come, first served until 4,000 tires are collected

A convenient opportunity to get rid of unwanted tires safely and affordably.

I’ll be staying in the office later this Tuesday, September 15, to give residents who may not be able to stop in during the normal workday an opportunity to come by after work.

I’m generally available during regular Village business hours as well, but if you have a Village issue, concern, question, or idea you’d like to discuss with me directly, feel free to stop in anytime Tuesday between 3:00 PM and 5:30 PM. No appointment is necessary.

Beginning September 17, 2026, new Village regulations regarding bicycles, e-bikes, scooters, skateboards, and similar devices will take effect.

Key changes include:
• Motorized bicycles, e-bikes, motorized scooters, motorized skateboards, and similar motorized devices are prohibited on sidewalks throughout the Village.
• In the Downtown Business Area on Main Street between Water Street and Broadway Street, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, roller skates, e-bikes, and similar devices may not be ridden on the sidewalk and must be walked.
• These devices may not be operated on streets closed for parades, festivals, or other special events.

Please help keep our sidewalks and public areas safe for everyone.

Invasive Species Reminder

Please help stop the spread of the Tree of Heaven and Spotted Lanternfly. Tree of Heaven spreads aggressively and is a preferred host for Spotted Lanternfly, which can damage trees, crops, grapevines, and other plants.

If you have a Tree of Heaven, please consider removing it. If you see a Spotted Lanternfly or egg masses, destroy them immediately.

Inoperable Vehicle Reminder - The Village of North Baltimore would like to remind residents that inoperable vehicles may not remain on private property for more than seven (7) days unless they are stored inside an enclosed building or garage.

A vehicle may be considered inoperable if it:
* Does not display a current registration plate and sticker when registration is required;
* Cannot safely or legally be driven on public streets;
* Has flat or missing tires or wheels;
* Has broken or missing windows; or
* Is missing major parts such as doors, hood, trunk lid, engine, transmission, or other drivetrain components.

In general, if a vehicle cannot legally be driven it should not be stored outdoors on a property for an extended period. Residents with an inoperable vehicle should make arrangements to repair it, properly register it, remove it from the property, and/or store it inside a closed building or garage.

The Village’s goal is to address these situations cooperatively before formal code enforcement becomes necessary. This is not a new law. This has been in place since 2003.

As summer continues, the Village reminds all property owners to help keep our streets safe by trimming trees, shrubs, and other vegetation along streets, alleys, and sidewalks. Overgrown vegetation can block visibility, obstruct sidewalks, and create safety hazards for motorists, pedestrians, bicyclists, and emergency responders.

Please take a few minutes to:
• Trim branches that overhang streets, alleys, and sidewalks.
• Cut back bushes and other vegetation that extend into the public right-of-way.
• Keep vegetation at intersections trimmed to maintain clear sight lines for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.
